This tut was written in PSP 9. It should be able to be done in versions 9 and up.

You will need PSP and i assume you have a working knowledge of the tools.

There are no outside filters needed for this tutorial.

You will need...

The items from the 2 scrapkits i used and my wordart

You can download the Punk Princess scrapkit HERE

You can download the Cutie Petutie HERE

I am aware the scrap maker no longer has the preview for this kit but the download still works last i checked.

Right click and save my wordart. It is in PNG format and should save transparent

A font of your choice

And a tube of your choice.

The tube i have chosen is called Devil Toon Girl by Keith Garvey. You can find this tube at My PSP tubes. It is a purchased tube and should not be used without purchasing a license for it.

Open a new image

600x 500 and flood fill with white

Open paper5, Big flower 1, Bling and Bow 2 from the Cutie Petutie kit and Frame1, Frame2, PinkSkullSticker, BrokenHeartPaper05 and BrokenHearts from the Punk Princess kit

You will notice how all the papers and elements are not the same color as mine. Thats because i have recolored them. I will show you how i did it for this tag.

Using your dropper tool, choose a color from the tube you are using that you want to use for the whole theme of the tag

Click on the Lighten/Darken tool and choose Change to target

Set shape to either circle or square, doesnt really matter.

Size 500, or as big as you need it

Hardeness 100 step 25 Density 100 Thickness 100 Rotation 0 Opacity 100 and mode set to Color

Now just use it as you would an eraser or paint brush etc. and use it on all of the elements and papers so that all are changed color to match

Now go to frame1 and copy and paste it as a new layer

Now resize it by 80%

Now take your magic wand and click on the outside of the frame, then go to selections > invert

Now go to selections > modify > feather and set it to 30 pixels

add a new layer and drag it below the frame layer

Now in your color palette, choose patterns, change your current pattern to paper5 and set scale to 50 and then floodfill the selection

Select none and then hide the bottom layer and merge visible the frame and background.

You can leave the white layer hidden if you want, just remember to unhide it before you save the tag.

Now copy and paste Frame2 as a new layer and resize it by 40% then duplicate this layer

Now put the circles one sitting on the other as in my tag. You can overlap some or not, but if you overlap a bit then the circles will be exactly as tall as the top and bottom of the square frame , refer to finished tag

Now hide all the layer except the 2 circle frames and merge visible, now unhide the other layers

Using your magic wand, click on the outside of the circles, then selections > invert

Now using the same as before, selections > modify > feather and set to 30

Now go to your color palette again and select the Broken Heart Paper05 as a pattern, this time setting the scale to 70

Now add a new layer and drag it below the circle frames, and floodfill the selection, then select none

Now hiding the other layers again, merge visible the circle frames and the background and then unhide the layers

Now embellish the tag as you see fit. I used some flowers, the bling, the skull stickers, the broken hearts and the bow. Dont forget to add some drop shadowing to them as you see fit. Just use the same one on the elements you do for the tube, but dont make it too dark.

Resize and move the layers where you need, but dont merge any of them yet

Now take my wordart and recolor if necessary to match your tag.

You may need to resize a little to fit, depending on how you embellished it.

Then i added a drop shadow to it, this is the setting i used

Now once all the elements, frame and such are moved to the positions you like, you can hide your white layer once again and merge the rest visible.

Now add the tube you chose in front of the circle frames and resize if need be, the tube should be a bit taller and longer than the circle frames, hopefully hiding where the frames overlap, just so it looks a bit better. But no worries if it doesnt, just add an embellishment over it if you need to. Or dont, all up to you.

Dont forget to add a slight drop shadow to your tube.

You can now merge the layers visible once again and then unhide the white layer. This is where you should resize if you want it smaller. (always resize BEFORE adding the copyright and your name to a tag, as resizing can make any words unreadable)

Now add a new layer and add the appropriate copyright and license if applicable.

This is where you can save as a .pspimage if you are going to be offering the tag at a later date. I always save mine this way, so if i mess up the copyright layer by a spelling mistake i can just remove that layer and add another without messing up the tag.

Then you are ready to add your name and save in whatever format you choose, i usually save as a PNG.

If you want to use the same font i did for the name, i used Jayne Print Hand set to size 72, Foreground set to #B8234D Background set to #FE528E and a drop shadow Vertical 1 Horizontal -1 Opacity 70 Blur 3.00 and Color Black

Now we are done and you can take a break lol.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial
